Wow, seems like I was waiting forever for my little trip, and now a click of the heels later and here I am back home again.
The boys chalk board greeting says it all and we Nana's LOVE our munchkin time!
Erin is a wonderful cook, I just had to take a picture of this wonderful meal she cooked for me. It was a beautiful but very windy day in OKC, (most spring days are), and the winds do really come sweeping down the plains. We ate outside, 1st picnic of the year.
Evenings Erin and I usually play double solitaire, she beats me most of the time but I am reining queen of Rummy 500. We have lots of fun and laughs.
We don't stay up too late like I do at home with Cleo because the boys are up REALLY early! :(
2 year old William is up anywhere from 5 to 6, sheesh! I am able to sleep a little longer while they have their breakfast. By 7:30 4 year old Alexander is chomping at the bit to serve me breakfast in bed (he makes me up a tray of plastic fruit, bread and stuff) and I pretend to eat it with one eye still glued shut.
Monday was zoo day, Erin packed us a little picnic lunch and off we went. It was quite warm and very sunny, all the animals were either napping or in the water. This Mama elephant was so cute with her baby. She grabbed up trunks full of grass, then wrapped her trunk around baby and fed him (or her). My new sandals wore giant blisters on my feet :(
Monday night Erin made Indian Fry bread. Oh I LOVE this stuff and brought home several packets of mix to make here. The mix makes a sweet puffy bread dough you fry, then top with beans, hamburger, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, cheese, sour cream and salsa! YUM!!!! A favourite at State Fairs.
We played our final rounds of double solitaire before watching The Bachelor.
I was kind of excited when this severe weather alert came on. Maybe that sounds kind of weird. We lived in Oklahoma for 19 years before moving to KC. One of the things I grew to love about Oklahoma were the wide open spaces and skies, where you could watch some pretty spectacular clouds and storms roll in. I probably would have liked the excitement of being a storm chaser.
I had a late afternoon flight out today. It was the boys day at Mothers Day out so Erin and I were able to enjoy a little girl time. We visited my favorite quilt store "Oklahoma Quiltworks". This shop has a TON of fabric, I had to control myself. I bought these bright screen printed fabrics from Robert Kaufmans Fusion line. They will be perfect for a boys pattern I will be starting soon. We then enjoyed lunch at Bellini's before picking the boys up from school and heading to the airport.
It all went soooo fast and here I am again. I had a blast and got my Nana fix. Well, you never get enough but it will hold me until next visit. Thank you Erin and Ryan, Love you Alex and William- XXXOOOOOOs
Big day tomorrow catching up here, so good night all!

Almost Out Of Here
Long weekend road trip coming up, or air trip I should say. I am flying out in the morning, going to OKC to visit my daughter Erin and her little family. It is a nice quick little flight, were up, 1 pack of pretzels later, were down and were there!
My carry-on is packed. It contains my fluffy purple bathrobe which takes up too much room to stuff in my suitcase, 2 monster dolls for my munchkins, People magazine and a candy bar just in case we run in to delays.
Next to pack the suitcase........... where you know who is camped out.
I spent the day running around like a chicken with my head cut off during torrential downpours with hail. Buying groceries so the boys and Cleo don't starve, orders off to the post office, some of this and some of that, you know how it goes!
Have a happy weekend!

April snow showers do not bring May flowers
April 12th and it is snowing! My poor little daffodils which finally decided to bloom are not going to be happy!
So quiet here for a Saturday. Jerry left at 4am for a conference in Palm Springs. I am soooo jealous. But, maybe not yet. He was flying American and I have not heard that he actually arrived. (American flights out of MCI were still cancelled as of yesterday). More than likely today being a meeting free day, he is already there and on the golf course LOL.
My cutie pies Aiden and Brandon recently had their pictures taken in the fields of Blue Bonnets. This is a popular Texas thing to do in the spring.
Poor daffodils:(
A blurry pic, but you get the idea. I spent my morning piecing blocks for my next quilt. Next will come the applique part. Just love working with this fabric, so bright and fun!
This evening I plan on doing some of this with Cleo! We are going to watch a movie and snack out!

Time flies!
Well good grief, you might think I fell off of the face of the earth, or took a little trip, I have not blogged in so long. The sad truth is I have been no place more exotic than my sewing room. My big outing for this week was to go pick up our completed taxes. Way over in the cute little town of Shawnee Kansas. If you have ever driven through downtown Shawnee during tax season, you have probably noticed this little gal out on the sidewalk advertising for this tax service. Shes out there every day rain or shine. Just honk your horn and wave like everybody else does. Our son Jon was along for the ride and boy was he embarrassed. He was only along to sign his return with hopes of dinner out on the way home, not take pictures of Lady Liberty. I did however control myself, normally I would have hopped in the picture also. It was such a nice sunny day!
Lady Liberty was kind enough to let me snap her pic, isn't she fun!
I have spent lots of time this week cutting wool felt for orders. Shown is just a small portion of
the wool felt I have under my cutting table!
Eventually it will get all cut to either yardage as ordered or penny rug kits.
In between cutting I have been working on a wall hanging using these bright and fun colors from Mary Englebreits new fabric line. I planned to finish my quilt this week however that deadline just doesn't look like its going to be met. I may need to clone myself to get it done.
