Pattern winners and Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all of you. We have been pretty low key here, just the two of us hanging out, puttering around the house catching up on chores. So today Hubby and I decided to take a little day trip and visit an Amish town in Jamesport Missouri.
But 1st of all I wanted to announce winner names from my pattern give away! Hubby drew names a few minutes ago and they are.... Angelsister 1951 for the "Sum Sum Summertime" and "My Happy Garden" patterns AND Colleen for the "My Cute Kitty" and Christmas Tea Towel Set. Ladies if you will email your addresses to me I will get those in the mail to you. Thank you everyone for your very kind comments, I wish you all could have won!
Back to Jamesport, a nice little drive about 90 minutes north of Kansas City. If you have visited Amish country before I know you have seen this sign.

Because they drive these! And what a pretty day it was for a drive, by car or buggy.

We stopped at the Amish Quilt/Christian Book/ furniture store. Not a huge fabric selection, but many beautiful handmade quilts were for sale. And the furniture was stunning.

They had these really cool bird houses out front, as you can see the birdies really seem to like them.

Down town Jamesport has several antique stores, gift stores, bakeries, and temptations for tourists.
We were hungry by now and had lunch at the Gingerich Dutch Pantry. They have a buffet and I was sorely tempted to have some of that meatloaf but we opted for BLTs... and they were the best BLTs... on home made bread of course. We had room left over to share a slice of Rhubarb/strawberry pie alamode which was yum also!

We spent quite a bit of time in the Farmhouse Collection store. Wonderful gift store jam packed with
goodies all displayed beautifully. The owner was very gracious in allowing me to take some pictures.
I'm a sucker for roosters!

I thought this spoon rack was pretty neat, have no place for it otherwise it may have come home with me. They are also candle makers and have hundreds of jar candles. Hubby and I got giddy from sniffing them all while trying to choose our favorite to bring home.

Before returning home I also bought fudge at the Ice cream store:)
All in all a very nice weekend. And now I'm ready to put my feet up and watch the
"Bachelorette" with Cleo!

End of Market and 2 more patterns!

A few last pictures from Quilt Market. Michael Miller Fabrics always has the most spectacular booth.
Is this display not amazing showcasing their new circus line of fabric! I love elephants, when I was a little girl I had a much loved stuffed elephant named Ellie who went everywhere with me :)

These two darling ladies strolled the floor decked out in this fabric line, how cute is that!

From the back.

This fabric booth had the most adorable chair covers.

Two more patterns I presented at Market were: "My Cute Kitty". Easy piecing and fusible applique,
this quilt is fast and fun to make. All of the print fabrics used on my model are from the "Orchid Gray" collection by Michael Miller Fabrics. An assortment of other solids complete the quilt.

And "A Christmas Sampler" Four embroidery designs to stitch up for the holidays.

Should you like to win these two patterns leave a comment and Cleo will draw a name on Monday!
Wishing you a happy Memorial Day weekend!

And while I was away....

I just found this cute post and Market picture of my boys at http://www.bearpatchquilting.blogspot.com/2012/05/international-quilt-market-day-2.html
Scroll on down to the last picture, had to share :)

International Quilt Market Kansas City!

Wow, I can't believe Quilt Market came and went so fast! What a wonderful show and time we had.

Gather your rolling totes and bags, lots of walking and booths to see. From designers to fabric companies, notions and any and everthing sewing, it's all here at Market.

My booth was directly across from Moda United Notions. It was hard being surrounded by so much eye candy. Moda designers Minick and Simpson sat across the aisle all three days promoting their beautiful new fabric line and patterns. Laurie gave me a mini charm pack from their new line "Independence Trail", gorgeous! Beautiful and fun displays abound everywhere you turn.

Here I am in my booth chatting with two very nice shop owners.

Faces float by of bloggers and Facebook friends. I was super excited to finally meet my on line friends Kelly Ann of Kelly Ann's Quilting and her friend Melisa Morisson of Sweet Home Quilt Co. I also met Sharon and her hubby from Daisy Cottage Quilting but didn't get her picture :( such nice people, so fun!

Day 2 my Son Jon came to help for a little while. Look how happy he is
to be around all these quilters :)

And Kelly Ann returned with a cute gifty for me, a sweet little Hello Kitty bag, purrrfect for the beach this summer. What a doll she is!

My next door neighbor was Sandy Klop of American Jane fame. Here we are in her booth surrounded by all her beautiful new quilts showcasing her new fabric line, such a nice lady.

And here are 2 of my new patterns! "My Happy Garden", love this wall hanging. Four sweet designs that make me smile. Fusible applique and easy piecing, this pattern is fast and fun. My model used pretty border fabrics from the "Early Birds" collection by Jane Sassaman for Free Spirit Fabrics. Various solids and polka dot prints complete the quilt. I love how the black background makes those solids pop.

"Sum Sum Summertime" is a cute little table runner for summer. Whimsical bugs have dimensional wings to flutter by with! My model uses bold and bright Kaffe Fasset prints for the border and bug wings. An assortment of other fabrics complete the runner.

Leave a comment for a chance to win both patterns. Drawing will be on SaturdayAnd now I had best get caught up on a zillion things after goofing off for so long.More Market pics to follow this weekend along with 2 more new patterns to give away.Have a great week!

Almost time!

Oh my, I've been gone so long Blogger has a whole new way to post.. yikes!!
Just checking in on you all. I have stayed fully focused the past few weeks on preparing for International
Quilt Market which is here this year in Kansas City. My new patterns are now written and printed and folded. New brochures are printed and stapled. Curtains are cleaned, fire retarded and ironed. I have taken over the dining room, piling up everything I will need to make my booth cute! Set up is on Wednesday.
Thursday my friend Brenda is driving up from OKC and will be staying with me while she attends the show. You have probably heard me mention Brenda before, she quilts all my projects so beautifully. She also designs patterns, it will be fun to have someone to talk shop with! So I've added a little ( no... actually a lot lol) of cleaning to my list.
I will have lots of pictures to show you next week, including my new patterns!
So until then, have a happy happy week!
