Some of this and some of that!

Some of this and some of that, I sure have been busy this past week. My kitchen table has been covered with stacks of pattern instructions, covers and sleeves while I put them together for a Fall catalog order. I just get in a good zone, turn Oprah on or some fun music and stuff, stuff, stuff! Funny how my family always disappears when its time to stuff, even Cleo slinks off!
Next on the menu was finishing my Annie embroidery design for September, isn't she adorable! It's Annies 1st day of school, teacher has asked her if she could write a word that begins with the letter C. I think she has done rather well don't you? Roseann, owner of Rosebuds Cottage quilt shop in beautiful Minnesota has put my nose to the grindstone to keep these blocks coming. She is stitching much faster than I am drawing :)
Roseann has cute plans for these blocks and I can't wait to see her finish.

I found the perfect fabric for my Annies, darling little red prints from Lakehouse fabric. I haven't decided on how I am going to set the blocks yet, but at least I now have my fabric to play with.

Have you seen this ADORABLE panel "Ruthie's Party" from Michael Miller fabric. I just had to have it. It has everything I love, that 40's/50's vintage appeal, cute kittens, OMG!

And next I have some packing to do, because we are now officially on VACATION!
Have a great week all!

I am a fabricholic

I am a fabricholic, I admit it! What's a girl to do with so many beautiful lines of fabric pouring into the shops. And this is my favorite time of year, when Christmas fabric begins to appear.
Summer is always a good time to get a head start on those Christmas projects, while the pace is a little slower and more relaxed. Take a little project to the beach or lake, to sit and stitch in the shade during those quiet moments. I love this fabric line, "Sparkle All The Way", love the more unconventional color grouping of pinks with the Christmas reds and greens.

Cute little reindeer, I will always buy fabric that has reindeer on it, love my Rudolphs!

This weekend I finished my newest Annie block of the month- "August Annie". Annie is at the beach of course, just where I long to be! She wears her cute little sailor top and hat and spends the afternoon collecting sea shells. So cute :)

It is raining cats and dogs off and on here today, my new fabric and I are heading upstairs to sew, have a fabulous week!

Quilt for a cause

Several years ago I was contacted by a quilter in Canada who asked my permission for her quilting group to make a donation quilt from my pattern "You're My Little Bugaboo". I had long forgotten about her request until Carol emailed pictures to me this weekend. Oh my, what a beautiful darling quilt they made. They changed the block setting to a wonky setting and here is the completed quilt.

Carol told me the quilt was auctioned off by the Mennonite Relief Quilt Auction with the funds being used for relief work in Haiti, their quilt raised $950.00!!!!

And here is Carols group of lovely quilters working on the quilt. I just loved receiving you pictures Carol, it makes my heart smile :) This is what quilting is all about!
