The excitement mounts!

Where does time go? It seems like yesterday when our son was just the most adorable little boy. 

Somehow the years flew by and he turned in to this handsome young man.

In a few weeks he will watch his beautiful bride walk down the aisle toward him and a new life journey begins. 

Hubby and I finalized the rehearsal dinner plans this week, and celebrated with a happy hour cocktail.

We are so excited!

My sewing machine will sit mostly idle this month. I finished a special project with a deadline last month. For now.... I am preparing my home for guests, cooking, baking, freezing dinners and goodies! And perhaps find a little time to enjoy the changing leaves and Indian summer weather.

Fall is here again, the leaves are showing off for us. We turn our heads every which way when leaving the neighborhood, one tree prettier than another, Mother nature sure does produce one glorious show!

Doing a little Fall decorating, my new pumpkin head dollie arrived from Valerie Weberpal at Harvest Moon designs. I just love her work, isn't she fun!

I have a new pattern design for you! "Oh Holy Night"...the stars are softly shining.

And speaking of sweet.. my Daisy is growing up, she doesn't fit in her favorite cozy dish anymore, but she still tries LOL! She has her winter coat right now, she's super fluffy!

With a big cool down overnight it sure feels like Fall here in Kansas! The leaves are not changing quite yet, but mums are in full bloom everywhere and pumpkins are popping up in so many cute yard displays. They all make me smile, I love this time of year! 

The past few days I have been up in my sewing room trying to clear a path to my sewing machine and cutting table. Stacks upon stacks of fabric and stuff, I keep moving them around the room, they really have no place to go:( I have come to the conclusion that I am going to need to buy more storage solutions and weed out. You know it's so hard to let go...

During the process I came across this sweet little apron. I made it several years ago, one of several original designs from my apron phase. I decided not to turn it into a pattern as the market seemed to be so saturated with apron patterns. 

Surely there must be a sweet little girl out there in need of an apron to make cookies with her Mommy or Grandma. This would be purrrfect! Apron measures 15 inches in length, the waistband is 17.5 inches long. Apron ties are long enough to tie in to a cute bow and match the bottom hem fabric.

Happy Fall!

1st day of Fall and what beautiful weather we are having here in Kansas City! Our chilly nights make for perfect sleeping weather with nice sunny days to enjoy being outdoors. This weekend I found my perfect pumpkin for the porch, he's nice and round and big. Can't wait to carve him! 

I found plenty of other Fall goodies too, who can resist candy corn this time of year! Not I, but I didn't buy the whole basket lol. Actually I bought some for Hubby, he likes it mixed in with peanuts.

Next I found this adorable fabric at Joannes...Hello Kitty Halloween Costumes from Springs Creative Products Group. Just had to have some, maybe I'll make myself a Halloween pillow case. Or... just add it to my stash of cute kitty fabric. 

Most of this pretty week has been spent indoors though. Printing patterns, gathering and stacking up stuff in the dining room.... yikes.. no company allowed this week! Getting ready to vendor at :

Bring On Fall!

September. The word has a Fallish ring to it but Mother Nature is having none of that just yet here with temps still in the 90's. Summer has been long and I'm ready for a change of pace and color. Outside the leaves may still be firmly attached to their branches. Inside however I am in control of the seasons and I say, let there be Fall!!

So this week I dug out a few of my Fall things from the basement. Just a few.. I always begin changing the seasons in my kitchen cupboard 1st. A pretty garland to drape across the top. I've changed all my dishes inside to my old Fiestaware, the yellow, orange and cream colors work well with antique and the real pumpkins which I'll add in October.. A wool felt leaf hangs from the front knob. 

Oh and I couldn't resist sitting out these little guys. They make me smile :)

Do you ever buy fabric just because it is too cute too resist? You might not have plans for it, but it just calls your name....Barbie Jo...Barbie Jo. This piece by Alexander Henry does just that for me. It is part of their "The Ghastlies" fabric line for this year. Amazing artwork, just look at those expressions :) So whimsical and fun! I had to own a piece of it. 

And that cat, Sebastian I believe is his name, Oh my gosh, that look ha ha...I want to pick him up and pet him but somehow he looks like he would not like that lol! 

Oh well. Busy month here. Still working on writing up the newest pattern.

which means stacking stuff up all over my dining room and making a big mess.

Yipee Skippy..it's Fall!

The trees are now showing their beautiful shades of Fall here in Kansas and leaves are falling like snow, pretty soon it will be time to get out the rakes and bags. We are enjoying Indian summer with temperatures in the low 80's, I could love this weather all year long!

It has been a while since my last post, I have been busy with my business and everyday life in general. My birthday came and went. Gee, not so exciting anymore LOL! But I had calls from all my dear friends and children and that is what makes my day really special. I did receive a surprise package in the mail this week, from my friend Kelly Ann. Kelly Ann owns Kelly Ann's Quilting in beautiful Warrenton Virginia. Just look at this cute stuff, she knows me too well!

Darling cat fabric, glow in the dark thread, cat peeps and Hello Kitty Pez, so sweet, so thoughtful, she made my day :)

And speaking of Kelly Ann, I shipped a trunk show off to her this week, my Christmas table runner models. She is a busy gal with a shop hop coming up as well as so many numerous events it makes your head spin. So if you are in range of Kelly Ann's Quilting, stop on by, you will be glad you did!

Besides folding patterns, Cleo threw us for a little loop last weekend. She had a insulin seizure while Hubby and I were out to grab a bite to eat, our Friday night routine. Our son Jon came home from work and found her and rushed her off to the 24 hour vet hospital where we met him a few minutes later. To make a long story short, they kept her in kitty ICU for the night on an IV of medicine and were able to stabilize her. Doctor told Jerry the next morning she was good to go and she was very very cranky LOL! Phew. Cleo... don't do that again!

Saturday our son Jon moved out. I had been dreading this empty nest moment and expected to have a little crying jag over it, but to tell you the truth with the Cleo crisis and all I hardly noticed. So he is all moved out, starting his young professional life and loving it! Jerry and I ran over to check out the new digs that afternoon and deliver some odds and ends.

This weekend I am doing a little Fall/Halloween decorating. I have Bunco here this week, and my daughter and her little family are driving up from OKC for the weekend. Erin is going to run the Wadell & Reed Kansas City Marathon on Saturday. She is doing the 1/2 marathon, wow, is all I can say!

Having Erin here means Grandsons too... yipeeeeeee! I have my latest Hallmark talking monster out, he is really funny, sings and does the Monster Mash. Cleo just loves it when we line up all our various talking monsters on the floor :)

My neglected sewing room is calling my name. I have a lovely stack of solids waiting for me. They will be background blocks for my next quilt, can't wait to get after it!
